NewAupair.com is an international service that helps to match families to au pairs. Signing up is pretty quick and easy, requiring a few basic details about your situation and what you’re looking for. You can then search profiles based on location, hours and other important information. Paying members are able to email au pairs directly but non-paying members are restricted to searching and viewing profiles so are unable to make first contact.

With over 25,000 au pairs and more than 10,000 jobs available there are plenty of options for families looking for an au pair or for an au pair looking for a family. Unlike many similar sites, which are primarily focused on one country, Newaupair.com has a strong international feel meaning that au pairs can find host families all over the world and vice versa. This is great if you’re looking for an au pair from outside of your own country or if you’re looking for a host family far away from home.

The searching functions are better than most, with quick basic searches and more advanced searches available to all members. Profiles also contain all the relevant information and members are able to upload photos. This is especially useful for families because you can show them what all the kids look like and how they enjoy spending their time. This site also offers a decent amount of information on moving abroad and hiring au pairs, which is easy to find. Indeed navigating the site is easy enough, with quick tabs along the top of the screen, each with a drop down menu. However, whether you enter the “family” section or the “au pair” section, all of the tabs remain, which seems a little unnecessary given that you’ve already told the site you’re primarily interested in one or the other..

Members can create lists of favourite jobs and au pairs, which is very handy if you’re spending a bit of time building up a portfolio of possible candidates before deciding which ones to approach. There are also 3 payment options available which include a free membership, a 30 day membership or a 90 day membership. The cost is pretty much standard but given the volume of au pairs and jobs available this offers a bit better value than some other sites.
