This Agency was used by our family to help with three children. They did not provide a few things as promised here in Texas.
The counseling session prior to Aupair arrival did not happen prior to her arrival. The coordinator did not even live in Texas. When questions arise, you need a coordinator that is closer. Even if a coordinator quits on the compamy, they need a temp. put in place quickly. In 5 months, no new one got hired that we were made aware of.
The insurance did not cover the Aupair's root canal. Very expensive medical need. The agency did not provide an Aupair with an international driver's license as stated in program. It was expensive as we paid for training and time consuming for family to help drive one child to and from school, enroll aupair in driving school, and time to practice and then to go get tested. Medicine was administered wrong once with a slight overdose.
My concern is if the agency followed up and got confirmation on anything the aupairs say they have completed for qualifications. The agency should be able to have proof that training, driving, first aide, etc have happened really. The Aupair ended up breaking her visa rules by accepting money from a U.S. company dealing in internet something. She was to be deported. but again no coordinator near to come help with the process. The family had to come take turns staying in the home as it was uncomfortable or just nerve wracking to leave her alone. Fortunately, this was what we did as she did disappear in the night.
This company should not be given permission by the government to bring in visitors if they are not able to have a coordinator and better follow up support for all. To top it off, we will not get a full refund, not even half. The girl was not in the home but 5 mos, and several weeks were with training for driving and a trip to get her root canal. So maybe 4 months of help. Should at least get6 thousand dollars back plus reimburse for driver training.
In summary, I would not recommend Great Au Pair to a friend.
