Before you had the opportunity to apply and message, speak with potential families you would like to care for (if you are on the site seeking a babysitting/nanny position).
Now, you can apply, but you have to pay in order to read the family’s response! That is insane. Money hungry. Ridiculous. They got a little notoriety and it went all the way to their heads and in their pockets. Do not even waste your time.
In summary, I would not recommend Care.com to a friend.

Recently Care.com changed the format of their website to something similar to a dating website where you only have two choices. "pass" or "apply". Many times the times, dates, # of children, etc that the families indicate are inconsistent within the body of the posting and the title so I have questions that I would like to ask to ensure I am available, etc. I can no longer do that because the only option would to be to apply. To make matters worse, Care.com has instituted a "credit" system where you have to purchase credits to even apply for the positions. So in order to ask a question about a certain job posting, I would need to first purchase credits to apply. I can no longer scan through postings to see which may be a good fit. Now I have to go through each posting one by one (similar to the Tinder or POF dating sites) and either "pass" or "apply". The same ads come up over and over so I am constantly "passing" on postings I have seen every time I log in.
It seems wrong to have to pay for credits... (Read the full review)
In summary, I would not recommend Care.com to a friend.
